Mid-Century meets Industrial The Bastille Cafe Rectangular Dining Table w/ Wood Top is an inspired reproduction of Jean Prouve's famed EM Table. Originally developed in the early 1950's for a prefab housing project in France called "Maison Tropique", the EM Table featured an industrial-styled base whose angled vector leg design created a utilitarian aesthetic synonymous with civil engineering. Prouve adapted this concept to other works and it has become a signature element seen in his contributions to 20th century design.
The Bastille Cafe Rectangular Dining Table w/ Wood Legs features an authentically styled black powder-coated solid steel base, and a beautifully textured Ash wood top with a natural finish. Available in two sizes, the Bastille is well-prepared to accommodate your guests in classic mid-century / industrial form, and functions equally as well as a desk in your office or home office.
